Welcome to Official Website of Pak Wheelers

After a long yet enjoyable journey of unwavering hard work that stretched for months, Pakwheelers emerged as the country's pioneering hybrid vehicle engineers. Given the global image of Pakistan, we faced unexpected difficulties in areas like procurement and financial support.

The prodigious creation of this car is an epitome of engineering and a glimpse of the long-forgotten glory, hence the name Prodigy. May God help us to follow in the footsteps of our successful ancestors.

The journey began when nine Mechanical engineering students from EME college NUST were sitting in a Chinese restaurant, having a birthday party. Then, while having casual chit chat, they started discussing how a team of mechanical engineers from PNEC NUST has participated in Shell Eco Marathon 2009.

Then suddenly the topic turned towards how they, themselves can do it and different problems and solutions regarding it. And amazingly, when the party was over, these nine boys were highly determined to participate in SEM and from that day they started their home work on it.

The idea was presented before a teacher I-e Associate Professor Ikhlaq Khatak and he proved to be very encouraging in this project. Hence team Pakwheelers officially came into being and started to work day and night on their project I-e the car Prodigy. They divided different components of car amongst 3 sub groups
i-e body and chassis department, engine and drive train department and steering, wheels and regenerative braking department.
